So in order to explore the area fully, we offer a great opportunity to do the unique tour products around Pamir with trekking activities from one-day hiking to multi trekking days. The 5 days long-distance trekking in the program you will be accompanied by soul and talisman of the land “Yaks”. This mystery animal helps you to do this trekking road to carry the all necessary luggage, foods and camping equipment and crossing some rivers. during the trek from Pamir Plato to the valley Varhez, you will have overnights in tents and exploring the completely wild land. You will have a chance also to ride the yaks if you get tired at some distance of the expedition.

ITINERARY

Arrival at Osh airport. Airport picking up. Transfer for Osh. Accommodation in the hotel. Optional to do city tour if there is time. Meals at cafes

After breakfast takes a road to Alay mountains to approach the destination Chong-Alay where you will be welcomed in the yurt camp at the lakeshore Tulpar-Kul. The roads take over the pass Taldyk (3400m) and first overnight in the yurt camp which is located on the slope of the peak Lenin.  Dine and sleep in the yurt camp. The altitude level is 3 000 m above sea level. Lunch picnic on the way at family homestay.

 

Today is the day to cross the border to Tadjikistan via Kyzyl-Art pass. After crossing the border, you will reach Pamir Plato and the first stop for sightseeing is the Karakul lake where you can have lunch at a local family house. The afternoon keeps traveling further to Murgab village. Accommodation at the guest house with dinner

After breakfast transfer from Murgab to Alichur. On the way turn to the right valley to see the old observatories on the high altitude from Soviet time. On top of the places, you may see also the peak Muzdak Ata from the china area if the weather will be blue sky. Sightseeing around and lunch picnic in the wild. Arrival in Alichur village, overnight in the local family running home stay with dinner. Free time you can walk in the village for the evening.

Today start 5 days trekking from Alichur to Varhez via the Jashyl kol area. You will be accompanied by yaks which will be used for luggage and equipment staff for camping. On the first day you will see the geyser and mineral water source. Meals in the wild and camping with tents.  Trek distance about 16-18km

Trekking day. Hot spring and sightseeing around the lake Jashyl-Kul. Meals in the wild and camping with tents.  Trek distance about 15-18km

Trekking day along the lakeshore Jashyl-Kul. You will cross some small uphill. Meals in the wild and camping with tents.  Trek distance about 18-20km

Trekking day following the river Gung. On the way, you can see the old grave Suban (he was the local hero against soviet occupants from 18th centuries).  Meals in the wild and camping with tents.  Trek distance about 18-20km

Today is the last easy day for the village Bachor. Arrival in the village for lunchtime, after lunch transfer for Horog.  Accommodation in the guest house with dinner

Breakfast. Transfer for Langar into the Wakhan corridor. On the way visit some local culture markets and old fortress. Lunch at roadside cafes. Arrival in Langar late afternoon or evening for accommodation at homestay.

Today you can do day trekking to the viewpoint Karl Marks peaks which is renovated to the current president name Rahmon. Lunch picnic in the wild. Late afternoon return to the village for overnight in the homestay

After breakfast travel back to the village Alichur via Kargush pass. On the way may see the caravans from the other side of the river Pyandj (Afghanistan). On the pass, Kargush takes a 2 hours hike to the viewpoint for 4 300 m altitude to see back for the Wakhan corridor. Arrival in Murgab by evening, accommodation in the homestay with meals and hot steam banya for the evening.

Early Breakfast. Travel for Karakul. On the way optional to do trekking to the unknown peak near the Karakul village. It will take to the top 5000 m above sea level where it opens all the valley Karakul and lake from bird’s-eye. There is no glacier and no required special equipment. You start from 4 000 m altitude to 6-7 km up for 5 000m. For evening arrival in Karakul village. Overnight in the homestay with dinner.

After breakfast travel for Osh directly. Lunch stop on the way in Sary-Tash village. Arrival in Osh late afternoon. Accommodation in the hotels. Farewell dinner at a local restaurant with folklore show. Sleep in a hotel.

After having solved all the questions and programs confirming we issue an invoice for payment. You can make a bank transfer or pay upon your arrival time in Bishkek before the trip starts.

The price of the tour depends on the number of people and the season. According to the request and interest, we can negotiate the optimal price for your budget.

According to the trek for 6 days from Alichur to Bachor you need to do trekking every day for 5-6 hours, intensive 4-5 hours. The altitude is high more than 3000m above sea level and dry remote mountain valleys.  We recommend you train with sport or jogging 2-3 times a week in the run-up to your trip

Clothing for hiking in temperatures from +25C to -0C. A detailed kit list will be sent to you when you book on.

All overnights during the trekking days will be in tents. We provide you tent/mat upon your request. In the village, you will stay in the family running homestays and the room can be dormitory to share with 2 or 3 persons. SNG supplement room is agreed upon for additional charges. Twin room hotels will be in Osh and Khorog towns.

 

We provide you with mineral water where it is available to buy on the way in the village shops when we travel by vehicle. During the trek-days we will not able to carry the much mineral bottled waters, we take water from the springs and rivers for cooking and for tea-coffee after well boiling for sure. For drinking, you can use water filters. We offer you to bring the water purified pills from your side. In Kyrgyzstan and Tadjikistan people used to drink from the rivers and spring source and we don’t use the water filters and any pure file pills. Therefore, you will not able to find the water pure file pills or portable filters in Central Asia.

The basic hints for travelers.

  • During your travel time, please respect local culture, customs, traditions, and religion.
  • Try to buy local products and make a benefit for the local economy.

  • Take off your shoes, when entering home or yurt stay.
  • Smoking is prohibited at home.
  • Please share your ideas on food and accommodation preferences.
  • Ask people for photographing them.
  • Be friendly and try to get in contact.
  • Be careful during the evening and night time and aware of mass meetings.
  • Be careful with your documents, money and valuable items.
  • Be aware of pickpockets and strangers at bazaars and streets.
  • If someone asking for documents, wallets or cameras, saying that they are from the police, ask them to go police together.
  • Never give your belongings to strangers.
  • Wear good hiking shoes for outdoor activities.
  • Bring warm waterproof clothes even in summer.
  • Have your torch sunscreen and repellent.
  • Do not drink very cold water from unknown sources.
  • Drinking alcohol at high altitudes is unsafe.
  • If the food fat or not acceptable for you can taste a bit and say thanks.
  • Do not drink cold water after eating out, better hot tea or c It helps in high altitude digestions cases.
  • Wear warm clothes in the mountains, usually after eating out.
  • Bring your medicines and first aid kit.
  • If you feel unsafe or have issues to discuss, please share with your staff, host or tour manager.
  • Collect your litter. Pack up all non-biodegradable rubbish.
  • Please don’t drop cigarette butts or litter.
  • High altitude vegetation is very fragile. Save the environment.
  • Use toilets in nature wherever available. Where are none, stay at least 40-50 m from streams and water sources and bury all waste and paper.
  • Leaving footprints, take just your photographs.
