The share of the tourism sector in Kyrgyzstan’s gross domestic product has reached 4.3 percent, with an annual tourist flow of about 10 million people. This was reported by Adilet Januzakov, General Director of the Fund for Tourism Development Support, on the air of ‘Sputnik Kyrgyzstan’. According to him, the industry’s development strategy is shifting from increasing tourist flow to qualitative infrastructure development. He noted the growth of Kyrgyzstan’s presence in international tourism platform rankings and the need to create conditions for various forms of recreation. Priorities include the construction of an Olympic village on Issyk-Kul, development of ski bases and amusement parks, digitization of tourist routes, and introduction of a national classification for hotels and guest houses.
