ROUTE

Transfer from Bishkek to the waterfall Belogorskiy.  Arrive in the place and take a short walking to the waterfall. Lunch picnic in the wildness and afternoon start trekking toward to the gorge Sokuluk. The first day will be 10 km distance to the pass of the Sokuluk and put camping in the Alpen green spot Kurgak-Tor.   First night in the tent.

Today we will cross the pass Sokuluk (3 740m) and reach eastern karakolka valley. From the pass take a distance of 20km and ascent the river eastern karakolka where you will do next camping for the second overnight. Altitude 2400m.

Breakfast. Spend morning time walking along the river till the bridge about for 5-6 km and crossing the to the south side. And start trekking up to the pass Chong-Tash Ashuu to the altitude 3200m where you will put the camping before the pass Chong-Tash.

Today take trekking into the Oi-Kaying gorge to the pass Tuz-Ashuu. Camping in the wild before the pass Tuz Ashuu.

Oi Kaying to Sary Kol: Start the day by continuing to climb gradually up the Oi Kaying Jailoo until you reach the mountain pass sitting at 3411m.  Here you will be rewarded with an incredible panoramic view of the valley below, dotted with horses, cattle, yurt settlements, and fir forests. As you snake your way down from the pass watch as the landscape around you changes from high alpine to dense forest.  You will split from the main road, continuing on a smaller trail that traverses the mountainside, weaving between fir trees and winding creeks.  After about 20km from your starting point, you will settle along the shores of Sary-Kul, a splendid lake surrounded by lush greenery and serene forests.

Today continue to tour from Sary-Kol to Tegerek. The itinerary goes through the mountain’s valley and crosses several rivers. This day you will not cross the massive passes but many mountain hills open up for you, providing different views of the nomad’s landscape with a lot of cattle on the pastures. Feel the nomad’s spirit as you walk on the street of the nomad’s land.  Enjoy your horse ride and work on your horseriding skills. After crossing the final uphill Kok-Kya, you will ascend the Jailoo Tegerek. Camping in the wild.

From Tegerek the ride proceeds onto the Kyzart Pass, traversing rolling hills and open fields. On the way will be a break in the valley Ok-Torkoy, where you will be picked up by car and transferred to the village Kyzart and you will spend the night at a local guesthouse. Enjoy a shower and a warm bed for the night, and recharge for the rest of the adventure that will continue the next morning!

After breakfast at a Kyzart guesthouse, head east on the Jumgal road to the pass Kyzart. You will arrive at the Kyzart Pass in 30min, where your guide team welcomes you back and has everything ready to go. So your journey continues by crossing the Kyzyl-Kiya jailoo. Trekking over the Chaar-Archa Pass (3061m) into the Chaar-Archa Valley and eat a tasty lunch by the racing river, with views of the 4400m Baba-Ata Mountain. After lunch, you cross the river and follow the trail over lush hills to the Kilemche Jailoo. The name means “like a carpet,” and this swathe of grass covers the whole mountain range. Stay the night at a yurt camp.

Having eaten breakfast at Kilemche, you will spend the morning climbing the Jalgyz Karagai pass (3400 m). The trek crosses the Song-Kol Mountains and into the lake’s basin. The rocky and spectacular climb affords wonderful views of Kilemche jailoo.  After lunch at Jaman Echki, follow the lakeshore west to the yurt at Tuz-Ashuu. Upon arrival meet your host family of Kyrgyz shepherds. Food and accommodation will be provided by local families in yurts.

Today will be relatively straightforward hiking to the western part of the lake along the lakeshore. Explore jailoo and learn more about the Kyrgyz nomadic lifestyle. In addition to this, you may have the chance to participate in traditional Kyrgyz horse games, an experience unique to this tour. Stay the night at Tulapr-Tash yurt camp.

Today you will wrap up your journey. Start at Tulpar-Tash and leave SongKol to Kyzart village via Uzbek Pass. The pass opens up to a spectacular panoramic view of all of Song-Kol valley. Hike down to the village and have lunch before a transfer will be provided to Kochkor or Bishkek.  End of the tour.

During the trekking, we provide you with pack horses and you can do trekking with your light things. All the heavy things, cooking gear, and your large backpacks will be carried by horses.

Most of the overnights will be in tents and the last 3 nights in the yurts. In the middle of the tour, you will have availability to stay in the guesthouse with hot showers and a sauna.

We provide you with mineral water where it is available to buy on the way in the village shops when we travel by vehicle. In fact, will have bottled water for two first days. But during all trek-days, we will not able to carry the much mineral bottled waters, we take water from the springs and rivers for cooking and for tea-coffee after well boiling for sure. For drinking, you can use water filters. We offer you to bring the water purified pills from your side. In Kyrgyzstan, people used to drink from the rivers and spring sources and we don’t use water filters and any pure file pills. Therefore, you will not able to find the water pure file pills or portable filters in Central Asia at all.
