The Kulun-Ata lake trek is for travellers who want to discover something truly new. The valleys above Konduk in the Osh region are almost unknown: the village has never lived from tourism, foreign visitors are a rare sight, and nature is untouched. Up on the summer pastures nomad families still live much as in the 19th century – in yurts, with their herds, with basic means and old traditions – and walking with them feels like stepping back in time. In 4 days you hike a 67 km loop over the Ojurma pass (4,008 m) to the turquoise Kulun-Ata lakes. Pack horses carry the luggage, a local guide shows the way and an English-speaking guide from Osh or Bishkek travels with you; three nights in tents, one with a family in Konduk. For fit, experienced trekkers, July to September, private trip or small group of up to 6.
The price is calculated individually: it depends on group size, dates and accommodation level. Send a request and we will prepare an offer for your group.

Getting to Konduk
The trek starts and ends in Konduk village (Kara-Kulja district, Osh region). Fastest way: domestic flight Bishkek – Osh (about 1 hour), then a private car Osh – Konduk (5–6 hours). Budget option: shared taxi Bishkek – Kara-Kulja (8–9 hours), a night there and transfer to Konduk the next day. On request we organise the whole trip from Bishkek to Bishkek, about 7–8 days in total.
Drinking water
On the trek you drink from mountain rivers and springs. Bring a personal water filter or purification tablets.
What to bring
Broken-in trekking boots, warm layers and a down jacket (cold nights at the camps), rain jacket, hat and gloves, sunglasses and high-SPF sunscreen, trekking poles, headlamp, a 25–35 l daypack and personal medicine.
Very fit. You walk 8–30 km a day on steep, partly pathless terrain and cross a pass of 4,008 m. Previous multi-day treks, ideally at altitude, are strongly recommended. The pack horses carry your luggage, so you only carry a daypack.
Fly Bishkek – Osh (about 1 hour) and drive 5–6 hours to Konduk, or take a shared taxi Bishkek – Kara-Kulja (8–9 hours) and continue the next day. We arrange private transfers on request.
Yes. A full package from Bishkek to Bishkek takes about 7–8 days: two travel days, 4 days of trekking and 1–2 nights in Konduk, with transport, accommodation, meals and guides.
Three nights in quality trekking tents at the camps (tents, mats and warm sleeping bags are provided) and one night in a simple family house in Konduk. There are no hotels or tourist guesthouses in the village.
People in Konduk, including the local guide, do not speak English, so an English-speaking guide travels with you from Osh or Bishkek. The price therefore depends on where you start (Osh or Bishkek), on group size (1–6 people) and dates – we agree it with you individually. Send us your dates and starting point and we will prepare an offer.
Kulun-Ata is for experienced trekkers who want true wilderness. For an easier first trek choose the 3-day Song-Kol trek or the Ala-Kul trek from Karakol. All routes: trekking tours in Kyrgyzstan.
