You won’t simply watch a performance — you will witness authentic hunting practices in real mountain landscapes, learn directly from experienced berkutchi (eagle hunters), and feel the raw spirit of nomadic life.
The Philosophy of Eagle Hunting
Golden eagle hunting is one of the oldest nomadic survival traditions. It is not entertainment — it is heritage.
The hunt follows the laws of nature. Wild animals have a real chance to escape. Only the strongest and fastest survive. There are moments of tension, triumph, and humility. Sometimes the prey escapes at the last second — and that, too, is part of the balance of the степpe.
Hunters treat their birds with deep respect. The eagle is not a tool — it is a partner.
We do not promote cruelty. This experience focuses on cultural understanding, traditional skills, and ethical hunting practices rooted in nomadic life.

Morning departure from Bishkek to the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.
Arrival in the village of Bokonbaevo. Lunch at a local guesthouse.
In the afternoon, visit Skazka Canyon (“Fairy Tale Canyon”), where you will meet a local berkutchi. Against dramatic red rock formations, you will be introduced to golden eagles and falcons.

Dinner and overnight in a guesthouse.
After breakfast, transfer to open steppe areas where the hunters prepare for the day.
The golden eagle hunt begins. Depending on conditions, you may change locations by vehicle or on horseback.
You will witness:
Eagle hunting for fox or jackal (seasonal & legal conditions apply)
Field techniques and communication between hunter and bird
Picnic lunch in nature.
The experience is dynamic and authentic — success is never guaranteed. Nature decides.
Dinner and overnight at the guesthouse.
After breakfast, transfer back to Bishkek.
On the way, visit the 12th-century Burana Tower, a remnant of the Great Silk Road civilization. Short guided walk around the historical complex.
Arrival in Bishkek by lunchtime.
