Basic riding experience is recommended: you spend 4–7 hours a day in the saddle, with steep climbs to two passes and optional gallops on the last day (you can switch to the car at any time). The mountain horses are calm and sure-footed, and the guide adapts the pace to the group. Minimum age is 15.

Night 1 in a family yurt camp at Kol-Ukok lake, nights 2–4 in tents in wild camps below the Ukok pass, in the Tuura-Suu gorge and in the Tuura-Suu valley. Tents, sleeping mats and a kitchen tent are provided; bring a warm sleeping bag.

Pack horses carry the camping gear and your bags; from day 4 the 4×4 support car follows with all luggage. Use a soft bag that can be tied to a saddle. Extra luggage stays in the car until the last day.

Yes, if you follow the guide’s instructions. You ride with experienced local horsemen on well-trained horses, wear a helmet and keep to simple rules: single file, 1.5–2 m between horses, no phones while riding and no alcohol before or during the ride. The weather can change fast, so bring layers and rain gear.
