This 14-day Kyrgyzstan photography tour is built around golden hour, not around a sightseeing list. For 2–6 photographers it goes from the nomad pastures of Song-Kol (3,016 m) to the fjord-like lake Kel-Suu near the Chinese border, the eagle hunters and red canyons of Issyk-Kul and the glacier rivers of Sary-Jaz. You shoot sunrise and sunset at the best spots, stay two nights in a row where the light matters, and have dark skies for astrophotography. About 2,000 km by private 4×4, yurt camps, guesthouses, hotels and one wild camp.

Moments that stay with you
Season. June to September. June brings green pastures and flowers, July–August the most nomads at Song-Kol, September clear air and the first autumn colours.
Permits. Kel-Suu and Sary-Jaz are in the border zone — send us a passport copy about 3 weeks before. Drones need permission; ask us in advance.
Gear. Wide-angle and tele lens, tripod for night shots, enough batteries and memory cards (power only in camps in the evening), dust protection, warm clothes for 0 °C nights and a sleeping bag for the tent night.
Booking. 10–30% deposit by bank transfer or card, the rest on arrival.
It is a photo expedition: the route and times are planned for the best light, and your guide knows the spots. There is no fixed teaching program, but we gladly help with composition and settings. A professional photographer as tutor is possible on request.
Yes, but drones need permission in Kyrgyzstan, and they are not allowed in the border zone around Kel-Suu and Sary-Jaz. Tell us early and we will help with the paperwork where it is possible.
Hotels and guesthouses have normal sockets. Yurt camps have power from solar or a generator in the evening; on the tent night there is none. Bring spare batteries and a power bank.
