Arrival in Almaty and transfer to your hotel.

After rest, begin exploring Kazakhstan’s former capital:

Almaty, located at the foothills of the Tien Shan Mountains, is known as the “southern capital” and former political heart of Kazakhstan.

Visit the lively Green Bazaar — colorful fabrics, spices, dried fruits and traditional sweets.

Continue to:

  • Medeo high-mountain skating complex

  • Kok-Tobe Hill panoramic viewpoint

Overnight in Almaty.

Early departure.

Explore Charyn Canyon, a spectacular natural monument shaped over millions of years. Walk through the famous “Valley of Castles.”

Continue to Saty village.

Change to local AWD vehicles for the mountain drive to Kaindy Lake, famous for its submerged forest created by a 1911 earthquake.

Evening return to Saty.

Morning visit to Kolsai Lake, part of a protected national park.

Afternoon transfer to the Kazakhstan–Kyrgyzstan border.
Meet your Kyrgyz guide and continue via the scenic Karkara Valley to Karakol.

Off-road journey by Ural truck to Altyn-Arashan Gorge.

Ride over Jalgyz-Karagai Pass (3,400 m) into the basin of Song-Kol Lake.

Ride along lakeshore to shepherd yurt camp.
