This 9-day family adventure in Kyrgyzstan is an active private holiday for parents and children from about 7 years. Every day has one easy outing of 1–3 hours: a walk in Ala-Archa, a first horse ride in Chong-Kemin, the hot springs of Altyn-Arashan, a hike to the Barskoon waterfalls and the alpine lake Kol-Ukok. In between you meet an eagle hunter, make felt with a village family and spend a day with nomads at Song-Kol (3,016 m). Nights are in hotels and guesthouses with proper beds — no tents.

Season. From March to May the mountains are green below and snowy above — Song-Kol is then replaced by a second valley walk. June to mid-September is best for the full program.
Children. Tell us their ages: we plan shorter walks, child seats, simple food and breaks. Helmets for the horse ride are provided.
What to bring. Light hiking shoes, warm layers and rain jackets for everyone, swimwear for the hot springs and the lake, sun hats and sun cream.
Booking. 10–30% deposit by bank transfer or card, the rest on arrival in Bishkek.
From about 7 years it works best: children can walk 1–3 hours and sit on a horse with a horseman leading. Younger children are welcome too — we shorten walks and the horse ride is then on a led horse.
Yes. You travel privately with your own guide and driver, the cars have seat belts and child seats on request, horses are calm and led by local horsemen, and all nights are in hotels or guesthouses below 1,800 m.
