Our Kyrgyzstan round trips combine the country's must-see sights, nomadic culture and mountain scenery in one comfortable journey. You travel by private car or minibus with a driver and a local guide, stay in hotels and guesthouses in towns and in yurt camps in the mountains, and add short horse rides and easy walks along the way. These tour packages suit everyone – couples, families with children, groups of friends and older travellers – and every route can be adapted to your dates, pace and interests.
What is a round trip in Kyrgyzstan?
A round trip is the easiest way to see Kyrgyzstan without long hikes or days in the saddle. Most of the time you travel by road between regions, stopping at Silk Road monuments, alpine lakes, canyons, bazaars and villages. In the mountains you sleep in a yurt with a nomadic family, try a 2–3 hour horse ride or a gentle walk, and meet craftspeople, eagle hunters and shepherds. Physical effort is low, so the trip is about experiences rather than fitness.
A typical route
A classic 8–10 day round trip, for example, looks like this:
- Bishkek and the Burana Tower – the capital, the Osh bazaar and an 11th-century Silk Road minaret
- Lake Issyk-Kul – the north shore, the petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata and the town of Karakol
- Jeti-Oguz and Skazka Canyon – red rock formations and the "fairy tale" canyon on the south shore
- Bokonbaevo – a golden eagle hunting demonstration and a night in a yurt camp
- Kochkor – a felt workshop where women make traditional shyrdak carpets
- Song-Kol Lake – high-mountain pastures, yurt camp and an optional short horse ride
- Tash Rabat – a 15th-century stone caravanserai on the way to China (on longer routes)

What is included
Our round trips include private transport with a driver, a local English-speaking guide, accommodation in hotels and guesthouses in towns and in yurt camps in the mountains, and the sightseeing and activities in the programme. German-speaking guides are available on request for German-speaking groups. The exact inclusions are listed on each tour page.
Best time for a round trip
The main season runs from June to September, when the yurt camps at Song-Kol and on the summer pastures are open and the mountain roads are clear. May and early October are good for routes around Bishkek and Issyk-Kul, with fewer tourists and mild weather.
