The Ministry of Justice and the British Embassy signed a memorandum on the development of English law and the creation of an international dispute resolution center within the framework of the Special Financial Investment Territory (SFIT) “Tamchi”. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.
According to it, SFIT “Tamchi” is a part of the territory of the Issyk-Kul region with a special legal regime and status, established for the purpose of attracting investments, stimulating economic growth, developing tourism, transport, and resort infrastructure.
The law on SFIT “Tamchi” provides for the creation of favorable conditions for doing business and reliable guarantees for the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of investors, including foreign ones.
All disputes in the territory of SFIT “Tamchi” will be considered by the International Dispute Resolution Center (IDRC), operating on the basis of English law.
With the assistance of the British Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic, a team of consultants has been attracted, providing expert support for the implementation of English law. Work is underway aimed at creating a neutral and reliable center in the Kyrgyz Republic for resolving commercial and investment disputes, based on advanced international experience.
This project represents an important step towards achieving the country’s goal of creating a modern, internationally recognized platform for impartial dispute resolution.
At the same time, there is a possibility that relevant disputes from outside the SFIT “Tamchi” could also be considered in the IDRC.
