Birds of Prey Festival 2025, Exhibitions and Events. Birds of Prey Festival. Location: Jaichy Yurt Camp (near Kok-Sai village, southern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake). On August 10, 2025, the Birds of Prey Festival of SVT Bokonbayevo will be held at the Jaichy Yurt Camp. The Birds of Prey Festival is dedicated to golden eagles and falcons, which are revered by the Kyrgyz. In the Bokonbayevo folklore ensemble, the best musicians of the district perform, singing and playing the komuz, a three-stringed instrument of Kyrgyzstan, the oz-komuz, a small metal jaw harp, and other traditional instruments. Program: 8:00-10:00 Arrival time. 10:00 Greeting. Exhibition and sale of local felt products. 11:30 National horse games (Ulak-Tartysh, Er-Oodarysh, Kyz-Kumay, Tyyn-Enmey). 13:00 Lunch. 14:00 Folklore and dances. 14:30 Opening ceremony and history of hunting with birds of prey (berkut), demonstration of hunting with birds of prey, falcon hunting ‘Dalba’, tazy dog races, conversation with Byurkytchu (eagle hunters), photography. 15:30 National games (archery, arkan-tartmay, donkey wrestling). 16:00 Master class – Kara-Jorgo dance, making shyrdak, chiy, ormok, komuz and arrows. 17:00 End of the festival.
