Ahead of the winter ski season, the state telecommunications operator MEGA has launched new base stations along one of the country’s key tourist routes. This step aims to improve connection quality and expand coverage in the most in-demand areas for tourists and local residents. The work on the Balykchy — Bokonbayevo — Karakol section resulted from a detailed analysis. For several months, MEGA’s technical specialists studied the terrain features, tourist flows, and the needs of the local population. Special attention was paid to settlements, popular tourist areas, and ski bases. For tourists heading to the Karakol ski resort along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul, this means greater comfort and safety. Reliable voice communication and high-speed mobile internet are especially important in mountainous terrain where weather and relief are often unpredictable. For local residents, the launch of the stations has also been a significant improvement: modern mobile communication is now available in several settlements, enhancing quality of life and opening new opportunities. In parallel, MEGA provided connectivity in hard-to-reach areas, including Enilchek and the high-altitude syrt zone of Ak-Shyyrak village. Network development around Issyk-Kul is systematic: earlier, the operator strengthened coverage on the northern shore — along the Bishkek — Karakol route, significantly improving connectivity throughout the direction. Thus, step by step, MEGA has formed a unified telecom coverage around Issyk-Kul, ensuring stable communication for both leisure and work.
