The road leading to the Karakol ski base is regularly cleared of snow, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
To ensure convenience for tourists and local residents, as well as to prevent road accidents, the highway is constantly cleared of snow and inert materials are applied. The work is carried out by employees of road maintenance enterprise No. 11 of the state enterprise Kyrgyzavtojol-North.
The department recalled that in 2023, the road to the Karakol ski base was transferred to the balance of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, which made it possible to organize regular maintenance of the highway during the winter period.
At the same time, the ministry emphasized that in adverse weather conditions, the road can become slippery, especially on ascents and descents. Drivers are urged to observe the speed limit, maintain a safe distance, and use winter tires and anti-skid chains if possible.
The Ministry of Transport also notes that snow removal and road treatment work will continue on a regular basis throughout the winter season.
