Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting of the National Council for Tourism Development in the Kyrgyz Republic.
At the beginning of his speech, the Head of the Cabinet noted that according to the results of January-April 2026, the gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to 602.8 billion soms, increasing by 12.4% compared to the same period in 2025. He emphasized that the services sector accounts for the main share in this indicator.
“The tourism sector, like the hotel business and public catering, is part of the services sector. We need to maintain this pace, for which the contribution of all industries, including tourism, is important,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev, adding that over the past five years the state has been making comprehensive efforts, developing and implementing strategies and tactics for the development of this industry.
The Head of the Cabinet reported that Kyrgyzstan is becoming recognized as a destination favorable for recreation in all four seasons.
“At today’s meeting, we will not just listen to reports — there must be an open conversation about problems! The modern requirement is a fight for quality. The state of infrastructure, road quality, service culture and tourist safety — this is the responsibility and image of the state. I believe that today the National Council will determine the further vector of the country’s tourism policy,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev.
The meeting of the National Council considered four main issues, including the results of the tourism industry for 2025 and the development of the national digital platform “Tunduk Travel”.
The Head of the Cabinet also noted the need for careful attitude to nature in parallel with the development of tourism and instructed to pay special attention to the formation of a culture of careful attitude to nature and increasing the responsibility of vacationers for maintaining cleanliness in recreation areas.
At the end of the meeting, Adylbek Kasymaliev emphasized that the state faces large-scale and ambitious tasks to attract more tourists and gave a number of specific instructions to the relevant government bodies.
