Bishkek, 21.05.26. /Kabar/. Kyrgyzstan has recorded a significant increase in tourist flow both in the summer and winter seasons. This is evidenced by data from the National Statistical Committee.
According to the results of the 2025 summer season, covering the period from June to August, the number of visitors and vacationers in the republic reached 3 million 533.1 thousand people. This is 50.6% more compared to the same period in 2024. The increase amounted to 1 million 187.7 thousand people.
The main flow of tourists traditionally fell on the Issyk-Kul region. In summer, the region was visited by 2 million 334.3 thousand people against 1 million 739.3 thousand a year earlier. The growth was 34.2%, or 595 thousand vacationers.
A significant increase in the number of tourists was also noted in other regions of the country. In the Chui region, the number of vacationers increased almost fourfold, from 89 thousand to 334.4 thousand people. In the city of Osh, the tourist flow increased more than 2.5 times, to 265.4 thousand people, and in the Osh region — to 128.5 thousand people.
Positive dynamics were also observed in the Jalal-Abad, Naryn, and Batken regions. The only region where a decrease in the number of vacationers was recorded was the Talas region.
The summer tourism survey was conducted in the Issyk-Kul region from August 1 to 10, 2025. The survey included 181 collective accommodation facilities, more than 2.3 thousand guest houses, as well as over 6.3 thousand households receiving unorganized tourists. The greatest growth was recorded among guest houses located on the territory of recreation institutions.
Growth in tourism activity was also observed in the winter season. From December 2025 to February 2026, winter tourism services in Kyrgyzstan were provided by 158 recreation areas and 14 ski resorts.
During the winter season, 378 thousand 571 people visited the country, which is almost 47% more compared to the previous season, when the number of vacationers was 257 thousand 868 people. Of the total number of tourists, 63 thousand 184 were foreign citizens.
The largest number of winter tourists also fell on the Issyk-Kul region, where 110 recreation facilities operated. The region received 113 thousand 964 visitors, including 30 thousand 871 foreign tourists.
High indicators were also recorded in the Chui region — 144 thousand 894 vacationers. In Bishkek, winter tourism facilities were visited by 38 thousand 220 people.
According to the National Statistical Committee, the number of ski resorts in the country remained at 14, but the attendance of such facilities increased from 157.3 thousand to 192.5 thousand people. The number of foreign tourists at ski resorts also increased — to 35 thousand 88 people.
