Bishkek, 06.03.26. /Kabar/. JSC “Airports of Kyrgyzstan” reports that the information circulating on social networks about the alleged suspension of the construction of a new international airport in the Jalal-Abad region does not correspond to reality.
The airport construction continues. The project is being implemented in the Suzak district, in the Bagysh ayyl aimak. The total area of the airport is 381 hectares.
To date, earthworks for the arrangement of the runway and apron have been completed by 80%. In parallel, the construction of the air terminal complex is underway – the terminal building has already been erected to the level of the second floor.
A temporary technical pause in certain construction processes was due to adverse weather conditions, which is a common practice in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects.
Currently, construction work continues, and the project is being implemented in accordance with the approved schedule.
