On March 18, 2026, during a session of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Ulukbek Uzakbaev called for attention to the development of the Suusamyr district as a tourist area. He noted that he had raised this issue before, and in response to one of his speeches, he received an official letter from the Department of Tourism. The letter stated that the district’s development is planned for the short term until 2030 and for the longer term until 2040. However, according to Uzakbaev, this approach does not satisfy him. The deputy emphasized that waiting for decades is unacceptable and urged the government and relevant state agencies to accelerate the resolution of this issue. According to him, local entrepreneurs have already begun active actions: they are improving the district, building campgrounds and other tourist facilities, but without state support, the potential of the Suusamyr district remains untapped.
