An unusual find in Kyrgyzstan has quickly become popular on social media and among tourists. A huge piece of stone, called jade. The stone is located near the village of Chon Kyzyl-Suu. In the Ak-Tash gorge of the Jeti-Oguz district, local residents held an improvised ‘opening’ of the giant stone. Footage from the ceremony is now actively spreading on social media. The find weighs up to 180 tons and is entirely composed of it. Even before excavation, the stone partially protruded from the ground and already attracted attention then. Now the rock formation has become a local landmark and actively attracts tourists. Some even come to the boulder to pray. Doubts are emerging online about whether the find is entirely made of the precious stone. According to one version, it may not be jade, but jadeite. This is a visually similar but less valuable material. Jade is distinguished by its high strength and is considered a precious stone, while jadeite is a similar-looking rock. The latter is inferior in quality and cost. The final value of the stone will only be known after examination; its value could range from several million to a couple of billion US dollars.
