In Bishkek, the state enterprise “NC “Kyrgyz Temir Zholu” and the Tourism Development Support Fund signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation aimed at developing domestic and inbound tourism.
According to the state enterprise, the document provides for joint work on using railway infrastructure to expand tourist routes, improve the quality of passenger transportation, and launch new directions. The parties noted the potential of railway tourism, which shows steady growth.
Updated wagons in “lux”, VIP, and “VIP-coupe” categories, as well as extending the route to the “Balykchy Beach” stop, have increased demand. In 2025, the Bishkek – Balykchy direction served 116,122 passengers, which is 131% more than the previous year.
From 2022 to 2025, Kyrgyzstan received 27 tourist trains from Europe, America, and Asia.
The company stated that they will continue modernizing the rolling stock, improving service, and digitalization: tickets are available through the website ticket.railway.kg and the railway.kg app.
