**Bishkek, 25.02.26. /Kabar/.** The archaeological site of Ak-Beshim is preparing for a new life: on the territory of this complex, Kyrgyzstan and Japan plan to build a new museum. This became known during a meeting between museum director Zhyldyz Bakashova and a delegation from Japan.
It should be noted that the visit of Japanese scientists was related to the initiative to create a museum.
The meeting took place with the participation of expert consultants Sakakibara Yoji, Kamoda Masato, and the well-known archaeologist Iwai Shumpei, who has been conducting research in the Chui Valley for over ten years.
The meeting took place in a constructive atmosphere, where the parties emphasized the importance of experience exchange for preserving archaeological heritage and creating new modern museum complexes.
Also, during the trip, foreign specialists familiarized themselves with the Kyrgyz experience in museum management, the fund storage system, and detailed information was presented on the following key areas:
– procedures for accepting historical and antique exhibits into museum funds;
– mechanisms of the state electronic catalog system;
– processes of storage, conservation, and digital accounting of museum collections;
– experience in organizing research and exhibition activities;
– compliance of fund work with international standards.
Summing up, Zhyldyz Bakashova confirmed the readiness of the national historical museum to expand international cooperation, support joint scientific projects, and close interaction with the global museum community.
Recall that the archaeological site of Ak-Beshim is the remains of a trading city that existed in the 5th-11th centuries. It is one of the most famous archaeological sites in Central Asia and was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014 as one of the cultural values of the “Silk Road”.
