On December 17, the Ministry of Culture held a scientific symposium dedicated to issues of preservation, protection, and rational use of the Ak-Beshim (Suab) archaeological site, located in the Chui region and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
As reported by the Ministry of Culture’s press service, the event was attended by representatives of state bodies, scientists, archaeologists, and tourism specialists.
During the symposium, Japanese archaeologists Kazuya Yamauchi and Shumpei Iwai presented the results of archaeological excavations over the past 10 years. Representative of the National Academy of Sciences Valery Kolchenko presented the concept of museification of the Ak-Beshim (Suab) monument within the framework of the state program “Kөөнө тарых сырлары”.
Issues of sustainable tourism development through the effective use of world heritage sites, preservation of cultural monuments, and improvement of tourist infrastructure were also discussed.
