Over the past two years, more than 43 thousand tons of garbage and about 400 kilometers of abandoned fishing nets have been lifted from the bottom of the high-mountain lake Issyk-Kul. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan.
Lake cleaning works are carried out by divers of a specialized center on the instructions of the country’s president. This large-scale operation is aimed at restoring the ecological state of Issyk-Kul.
