Sadyr Zhaparov: Our Goal is to Make Kyrgyzstan the Center of Mountain Tourism

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov took part in the opening of the gondola cable car in the Ala-Archa Natural Park.

Speaking at the ceremony, the head of state noted that the development of modern tourist infrastructure is one of the priorities of state policy.

“Our goal is to fully unlock the country’s tourist potential and make Kyrgyzstan recognizable in the world in the field of mountain tourism,” emphasized Sadyr Zhaparov.

According to him, over the past years, the infrastructure in Ala-Archa has been completely updated, modern and comfortable conditions for tourists have been created. The new cable car, 1 kilometer long, can carry up to a thousand people per hour and opens up new opportunities for both the country’s citizens and foreign guests.

The cable car was built by the well-known Austrian company Doppelmayr. The same company is involved in the construction of lifts at the large ski resort Ala-Too Resort in the Issyk-Kul region.

The President said that as part of the second stage, the project will be expanded – the route length will be 12 kilometers, which will allow covering hard-to-reach and picturesque areas of the national park.

In addition to the cable car, modern cottages and a bobsleigh track are being built in Ala-Archa, and the commissioning of a five-star hotel with a pool is planned.

The head of state also provided data on the growth of the park’s income: if in 2020 they amounted to 29 million som, then in 2025 they exceeded 262 million som – an almost nine-fold increase. According to him, this became possible thanks to digitalization and a transparent management system.

Sadyr Zhaparov emphasized that the state is open to investors and will continue to create favorable conditions for business. He recalled the moratorium introduced on unreasonable checks of entrepreneurs and once again urged law enforcement agencies not to put pressure on business.

The President expressed confidence that the implementation of tourist projects will increase the flow of tourists, create new jobs and make a significant contribution to economic growth.

“Let’s prove to the world that Kyrgyzstan is a country of majestic mountains where the snow leopard lives, and the best opportunities for recreation,” the head of state said.
