The parties discussed issues of increasing mutual tourist flow, launching joint tourist routes, and expanding cooperation in the tourism sector.
A meeting was held between the Chairman of the Tourism Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Akkulov and the Executive Director of the Association of Tourist Organizations of Kyrgyzstan (KATO) N. Saparov and leading tour operators of the two countries.
The meeting discussed increasing mutual tourist flow, developing joint tourist routes, as well as developing direct cooperation between tour operators, hotel facilities, and transport companies.
The parties noted that the formation of tourist programs combining the rich historical and cultural heritage and ancient cities of Uzbekistan with the unique nature, opportunities for mountain and ecotourism in Kyrgyzstan will create an attractive and competitive offer for foreign tourists.
As part of cooperation with KATO, an exchange of views took place on organizing mutual info-tours for representatives of the tourism sector of the two countries, promoting joint tourist routes “Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan” to international markets and their wide popularization through digital platforms and mass media.
At the same time, prospects were considered for presenting the tourism opportunities of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan under a single regional brand “Central Asia” at major international tourism exhibitions and fairs around the world, organizing joint national stands, presentations, and marketing events. This approach will allow demonstrating to the international audience the rich historical heritage, cultural diversity, and natural potential of the region as a single tourist destination.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on attracting tourists from third countries, actively promoting the planned direct flights from Bishkek to Samarkand and Urgench, as well as systematically continuing practical cooperation between representatives of the tourism business of the two states.
The implementation of the planned initiatives will contribute to the expansion of tourist exchange between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, enrichment of travel geography, as well as increasing the prestige and attractiveness of Central Asia in the international tourism market.
