The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic announces the entry into force of the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution No. 855 dated December 31, 2025, which amends the procedure for the stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic. The adopted resolution is aimed at optimizing and streamlining migration processes, increasing the transparency of conditions for the stay of foreign citizens, as well as bringing national legislation in line with the priority tasks of the state migration policy of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the amendments made, citizens of a number of foreign states listed below are entitled to stay on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic on a visa-free basis, without issuing documents granting the right to stay, for a total of up to 30 calendar days within each 60-day period from the date of entry into the country.
Upon expiration of the established stay period, foreign citizens are obliged to: leave the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic or obtain the relevant permits (visa, residence permit, temporary stay permit and other documents) in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The specified changes do not affect the provisions of international treaties and agreements providing for other conditions of entry and stay of foreign citizens, and also do not apply to persons entering the Kyrgyz Republic for the purpose of carrying out labor, educational or other activities requiring the issuance of special permits.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic informs foreign citizens and receiving parties of the need to comply with the established periods of stay on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic and recommends taking into account the changes that have entered into force when planning entry and stay in the country in order to comply with the requirements of the migration legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
