Tazabek – The republic’s tourism potential remains high and is regularly presented at international forums. This was stated on December 18 by Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliev in an interview with local TV channels.
‘To attract tourists and form routes, we must improve infrastructure. First of all, these are roads and airports,’ Kasymaliev said.
The head of the Cabinet reported that domestic airports in Karakol, Batken, Razakov, Naryn, and Kerben have already been upgraded in the country. In addition, construction of a new terminal is underway at Manas Airport, which will meet international standards.
He also recalled the work to remove Kyrgyzstan from the aviation ‘black list.’ ‘I hope that next year we will succeed in getting off this list and gain the opportunity to fly to European Union countries,’ Kasymaliev said.
According to him, construction of tourist facilities, including ski bases, is underway in the regions.
‘The Ala-Too Resort project is being developed, a four-lane road is being built there. A ski base is also being built in the Tup district, in Karkara,’ he reported.
Kasymaliev separately noted the importance of training personnel for the tourism industry.
‘Tourists should receive service at the level of leading countries. We have a business council between Kyrgyzstan and Germany, and we have agreed on joint training of personnel for the service sector according to international and German standards,’ the head of the Cabinet reported.
He added that it is planned to train specialists not only for work within the country but also with the possibility of employment in Germany, which, according to him, will allow adopting practical experience and improving the quality of service in Kyrgyzstan.
