Central Asia is becoming one of the most promising tourism regions in the world. This was stated by Cordula Wollmut, Regional Director for Europe of the World Tourism Organization of the UN, speaking at the Turkmentravel 2026 conference.
“Central Asia today is becoming one of the most promising tourism regions in the world. Shared heritage, strategic location, and growing connectivity create unique opportunities for forming a strong regional tourism direction. In addition, the region is stable and safe,” she said.
The international conference Turkmentravel 2026 is taking place in Ashgabat. Participants present the tourism potential of their countries, innovative solutions in the travel sector, and new opportunities for international cooperation.
