Craft and Tourism: New Ethno-Routes to be Created in Kyrgyzstan for the Country’s Guests

The Association of Designers and Craftsmen of Kyrgyzstan, together with the Tourism Development Support Fund, signed a cooperation agreement.

The main task of this memorandum is to revive traditional crafts and integrate them into the tourist experience, which will make craft art an important part of the country’s tourist routes.

In accordance with the agreement, the parties intend to jointly work on several key areas:

• Including craft workshops and locations in tourist routes, which will create new attractive points for travelers visiting Kyrgyzstan.
• Organizing ethno-festivals, fairs, and exhibitions aimed at promoting craft art both in the domestic and external markets.
• Developing marketing strategies and conducting info-tours to attract tourists to craft centers, which will increase the recognition of national art.

The Fund emphasized that this partnership will be a significant step in the development of cultural tourism and support for craftsmen who have preserved Kyrgyzstan’s rich heritage.
