Ecology (AKIpress) – An ecological festival ‘Snow Leopard Ecofest Chon-Kemin 2026’ will take place on July 11 at the hippodrome of the village of Shabdan in the Chon-Kemin valley. This was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.
The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Snow Leopard: Eco-Education — the Basis of a Sustainable Future for Kyrgyzstan’.
The event aims to raise environmental awareness, develop eco-education, promote sustainable nature tourism, and draw public attention to the conservation of the snow leopard.
The festival will feature demonstrations of winning entries from student competitions ‘Snow Leopard Youth – Guardians of Nature’. Thematic zones are planned: exhibitions of eco-products, snow leopard art zone, exhibition of paintings and photographs, children’s drawing competition, master classes on ecology and ethno-direction, archery zone, ‘Kurosh’ wrestling zone, ‘Snow Leopard Jump’ competition, demonstration of stunt shows, and taigan show.
