Eduard Kubatov has been appointed director of the State Agency for Tourism Development under the Cabinet of Ministers. The appointment decree was signed by the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov. This was reported by the information policy department of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic. Kubatov is 54 years old. He is the president of the Alpine Climbing and Mountaineering Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as the Honorary Consul of Indonesia in Kyrgyzstan. In May 2021, he climbed Everest, the highest point on the planet. The athlete noted that the ascent was not easy for the climbers. Four people who went on the expedition died. In 2022, he received a state award from Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
