In Bishkek, teachers of ecology and tourism are trained in creating eco-platforms in schools

The Republican Children’s and Youth Center for Ecology, Local History, and Tourism under the Ministry of Education is conducting training and methodological seminars for ecology and tourism teachers as part of the transition to a 12-year education system. According to the ministry, the goal of the seminars is to improve teachers’ professional skills and strengthen their methodological training. Participants familiarized themselves with modern methods of environmental education, project activities, interactive approaches, as well as the model of teaching tourism, the content of school tourism, and ways to organize tourist routes for students. In the practical part, Dr. Zamirbek Abylaev conducted master classes on modern methods of organizing eco-projects, creating eco-gardens, organizing mini-models of eco-houses, involving students in practical research work, and integrating ecological projects. Practices on creating eco-platforms in schools, organizing eco-laboratories, implementing long-term practical projects, preparing compost, and recycling organic waste were also demonstrated. The Ministry of Education added that these educational activities contribute to strengthening teachers’ methodological training, effective implementation of the content of 12-year education, and practical development of the ‘Ecology-Tourism’ direction. The Republican Center plans to expand this work to all regions of the country.
