Kyrgyzstan and China discussed the development of direct air traffic and the launch of new routes

A working meeting was held between representatives of the State Agency for Civil Aviation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic, domestic airlines, and a Chinese delegation that included representatives from Chengdu Airlines and the COMAC marketing center. The parties discussed prospects for developing direct passenger and cargo air traffic between Kyrgyzstan and China.

During the negotiations, opportunities for launching regular flights were considered, a preliminary analysis of the air transportation market was conducted, and various cooperation models were discussed. Particular attention was paid to assessing passenger flow, the transit potential of Manas International Airport, and prospects for developing cargo transportation.

The Osh – Kashgar route was discussed separately, noted as an important regional direction with high socio-economic significance. According to meeting participants, its development could contribute to expanding trade, tourism, and strengthening transport connectivity between southern regions of Kyrgyzstan and western regions of China.

The parties also considered the possibility of opening a new air point in the Naryn region and adjacent territories of China. It is assumed that using an additional air corridor will increase flight safety, shorten route lengths, and reduce travel time.

Additionally, the Chinese side presented opportunities for using Chinese-made regional aircraft for flights between the two countries. The discussion touched on issues of aircraft certification, compliance with international aviation safety standards, training of aviation personnel, and organization of maintenance.
