Kyrgyzstan and China to Expand Cooperation in Cinema, Museums, and Cultural Tourism

Kyrgyzstan and China intend to expand cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

The issue was discussed by Kyrgyz Minister of Culture, Information and Youth Policy Mirbek Mambetaliev and Chinese Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Liu Sushé at a meeting in Cholpon-Ata.

The negotiations took place within the framework of the 23rd meeting of culture ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.

The parties discussed the preservation of cultural heritage, the development of museum and library affairs, archaeology, cinematography, creative industries, digitalization of the cultural sphere, youth policy, and cultural tourism.

Special attention was paid to the interaction between museums of the two countries, the organization of joint exhibitions, the exchange of expositions, and professional experience.

The Kyrgyz and Chinese sides also expressed interest in mutually holding Culture Days, tours of creative groups, and festivals.

Mirbek Mambetaliev noted that joint cultural events contribute to strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

Meeting participants emphasized the importance of implementing humanitarian initiatives within the SCO and the “One Belt, One Road” project.

Following the negotiations, the parties confirmed their readiness to continue developing cultural ties and joint projects.
