The Chairman of the Board of OJSC ‘Kyrgyzstan Airports’ Manasbek Samidinov held a working meeting with French Ambassador Nicolas Fa, discussing, among other things, the possibility of opening direct air traffic between the two countries by French air carriers.
The meeting participants discussed prospects for cooperation in the field of civil aviation and tourism, as well as expanding transport accessibility and strengthening business and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
In addition, the Kyrgyz side expressed interest in expanding the international route network and confirmed readiness for practical development of this direction jointly with French partners.
It should be reminded that currently Kyrgyzstan is on the blacklist of air carriers of the European Union. It includes airlines and countries that, according to the assessment of the European Union and ICAO, have not resolved safety issues. Inclusion in this list means that the skies over EU countries are closed to carriers from such countries.
All Kyrgyz airlines have been on the EU blacklist since 2006. To exit it, compliance with international standards must be proven.
In October 2025, representatives of the State Agency for Civil Aviation of the Kyrgyz Republic (GACA) participated in a technical meeting in Brussels (Belgium) at the European Commission (DG MOVE) as part of the ongoing process to exclude Kyrgyzstan from the EU safety list.
