On May 4, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, met with Barry Faure, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Seychelles. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported on the progress of this important meeting.
The negotiations discussed key aspects such as the development of political dialogue, expansion of the contractual base, as well as strengthening trade-economic and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
The parties also touched upon issues of cooperation in such areas as agriculture, tourism, education and digital governance, as well as interaction on sustainable development and climate issues.
This visit became landmark, as it is the first in the history of bilateral relations visit of the head of the foreign policy department of the Seychelles to Kyrgyzstan.
As a result of the meeting, an Agreement was signed that exempts citizens of Kyrgyzstan and the Seychelles from visa requirements for short-term stays.
Within the framework of the official visit, meetings at the high and highest levels are also planned.
