Kyrgyzstan Awaits Decision on Flights to Europe This Spring

The European Commission will make a final decision on allowing Kyrgyz airlines into EU airspace in May 2026. To exit the ‘blacklist,’ Kyrgyzstan has carried out large-scale reforms: the State Agency for Civil Aviation has been created, enabling the implementation of ICAO world standards at 85.76%, and the infrastructure of all 11 airports in the country has been updated. As a result of the reforms, passenger traffic has grown to 6 million people, the number of flights has increased by 53%, and the air fleet has been replenished with modern Airbus A321 liners for long-haul flights. Representatives of the European Commission expressed high satisfaction with the progress and quality of state oversight in the industry.
