Kyrgyzstan Launches $150 Million Medical Tourism Project in Karakol

In Karakol, an initiative to create a high-tech medical cluster aimed at attracting patients from CIS countries and border areas is starting. The volume of investments in the project amounts to 150 million US dollars.

The capacity of the future center will exceed 500 beds. Specialized departments in oncology and cardiology will be integrated into the facility’s infrastructure.

A key aspect of implementation will be the involvement of foreign expert-level specialists, along with a program for retraining and advanced training of local medical personnel.

The initiative can position Kyrgyzstan as a new player in the market for cross-border medical services, creating an additional impetus for the socio-economic development of the region and strengthening international cooperation in the healthcare sector.
