The Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev took part in the international sports fishing event called ‘Opening of the 2026 Fishing Season’, which took place in the village of Konstantinovka, Alamudun district, Chui region. In his speech, Kasymaliev noted that the country’s water bodies are well suited for sports and amateur fishing. In his opinion, the fishing industry is developing well in Kyrgyzstan and ‘fully covers domestic needs’. He also said that the country has achieved significant success in exporting fish products. According to him, the Department of Fisheries, together with scientists, actively works with hunters and fishermen, and through the Agro-Smart system, electronic ticket issuance has been introduced. In addition, the Chairman of the Cabinet reported that Kyrgyz fishermen-athletes have begun to show results at major international competitions. The Kyrgyzstan team in the ‘Feeder’ discipline took 20th place at the 2024 World Championship held in Spain. ‘In April 2026, the 15th World Championship will take place in Italy. The International Federation for Freshwater Fishing includes 70 countries, and the Kyrgyzstan team is actively preparing for the competitions.
