**Bishkek, 01.04.26. /Kabar/.** The Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic, together with the Department of Tourism, is implementing a large-scale project to create modern rest areas Rest Point on key highways of the country. This was reported by the head of the road department, Asylbek Choybekov, in the ‘Elden Sobol’ program of the Kabar agency.
According to him, the initiative to build such facilities was launched in the fall of last year. These are full-fledged complexes that ensure comfort and safety for drivers and tourists on long routes.
> ‘These are modern facilities where a driver can stop and fully rest. Each Rest Point includes toilets, shops, and all necessary conditions. Currently, active negotiations are underway to expand this network,’ Choybekov noted.
It should be noted that several such rest areas have already been built and are operational. In particular, in the Issyk-Kul region, modern Rest Points are already receiving visitors on 2-4 sections, one of which is located on the Tyup – Kegen highway.
The department plans to build similar service areas on all international highways throughout Kyrgyzstan, which will bring the country’s road infrastructure up to international standards.
