Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev held a meeting of the National Tourism Development Council, where the results of the industry for 2025, infrastructure development, and the launch of the digital platform Tunduk Travel were discussed.
The head of the Cabinet noted that according to the results of January – April 2026, the GDP of Kyrgyzstan amounted to 602.8 billion soms, an increase of 12.4 percent compared to the same period last year. According to him, the main share in the economy is occupied by the service sector, part of which is tourism, the hotel business, and public catering.
“We need to maintain this pace, for which the contribution of all sectors, including tourism, is important,” said Adylbek Kasymaliev, emphasizing that over the past five years the state has consistently implemented strategies for the development of the tourism industry.
He also noted that Kyrgyzstan is becoming a recognizable destination for recreation in all four seasons.
“Today there should be an open conversation about problems. The modern requirement is the fight for quality. The state of infrastructure, the quality of roads, the culture of service, and the safety of tourists — this is the responsibility and image of the state,” said the head of the Cabinet.
The council meeting considered four key issues, including the results of the development of the tourism industry for 2025 and the creation of the national digital platform Tunduk Travel.
Special attention was paid to environmental issues. Adylbek Kasymaliev instructed to strengthen work on forming a culture of careful attitude to nature and increasing the responsibility of vacationers for maintaining cleanliness in recreation areas.
At the end of the meeting, the head of the Cabinet stated that the state faces large-scale tasks to attract more tourists and gave a number of instructions to the relevant government bodies.
