Two Men Detained on Issyk-Kul for Illegal Fishing

Ecology AKIpress – Poachers were detained on Issyk-Kul, reported the press service of the regional police department.

According to it, on November 23 at approximately 05:20, residents of Kyzyl-Tuu village in Ton district – A.R., born in 1984, and K.Z., born in 1983, were detained by tourist-ecological police officers during illegal fishing using a homemade tool – a pitchfork.

During the inspection, 18 fish were found and seized as evidence.

This fact was registered in the ERP of the Ton district police department, a criminal case was initiated under Article 310 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic (‘Illegal hunting or fishing or extraction of aquatic animals’).

The Jeti-Oguz district court chose a measure of restraint in the form of detention for 1 month against the suspects.

The investigation is ongoing.
