Day-by-Day Itinerary

Morning departure from Osh toward the Alay Valley.

Cross Gulcho and Taldyk mountain passes, ascending to the impressive Zaalai mountain range. During the drive enjoy breathtaking views of Peak Lenin (7,134 m).

Arrival at Tulpar-Kol yurt camp, located on the slopes of the peak.

This day is important for altitude acclimatization.

Dinner and overnight in traditional yurts.
Driving time: 3–4 hours.

After breakfast drive toward the Kyzyl-Art border crossing and enter Tajikistan.

Continue across the high-altitude Pamir plateau to Lake Karakul, one of the largest alpine lakes in Central Asia at nearly 4,000 meters above sea level.

Lunch at a local homestay and short sightseeing.

In the afternoon descend to Murghab village (3,000 m), where most residents are ethnic Kyrgyz.

Dinner and overnight in a family-run homestay.

Today explore the vast Murghab Plateau.

Visit the abandoned Soviet-era observatory hill, offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. In clear weather you may even see Muztagh Ata Peak in China.

The region is also known as habitat for Marco Polo wild sheep.

Arrival in the remote village of Alichur.

Dinner and overnight in a local homestay.

Drive through the dramatic landscapes of the Wakhan Corridor, crossing Khargush Pass.

The route follows the Panj River, forming the natural border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan. On the opposite riverbank you may observe traditional Afghan villages and caravans.

Arrival in Langar village in the late afternoon.

Dinner and overnight in homestay.

Today enjoy a radial trek toward the slopes of Karl-Marx Peak (6,723 m) in the Shahdara Range.

The trail follows traditional shepherd routes and offers magnificent views of the Pamir and Hindu Kush mountains.

Return to Langar in the evening.
Overnight in homestay.

Drive to the regional capital Khorog.

En route visit the ancient Yamchun Fortress and relax in the natural Bibi Fatima hot springs.

Arrival in Khorog.
Accommodation in hotel.
Meals at local cafés.

Morning transfer to the starting point for a trek into the Rushan mountain range.

Hike to the remote mountain community of Jisev, accessible only by foot.

Here traditional life continues largely unchanged — without cars, electricity or modern infrastructure.

Dinner and overnight in a local family home.

Morning at leisure to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

After breakfast descend on foot to the road where your driver will meet you.

Return to Khorog.
Overnight in hotel.

Drive back across the high Pamir plateau to Murghab (approx. 300 km).

Picnic lunch en route.

Dinner and overnight in guesthouse.

Return drive to Osh via the same spectacular route.

Arrival in the late afternoon.

Overnight in hotel.

After having solved all the questions and programs confirming we issue an invoice for payment. You can make a bank transfer or pay upon your arrival time in Bishkek before the trip starts.

The price of the tour depends on the number of people and the season. According to the request and interest, we can negotiate the optimal price for your budget.

Due to the remote mountain terrain and high-altitude roads of the Pamir region, we use reliable 4×4 vehicles only.

For comfort and safety, each vehicle accommodates a maximum of 3 passengers, allowing enough personal space during long driving days.

This tour is not a fixed group departure. All programs are operated as private journeys, meaning the itinerary can be adjusted individually according to your travel dates, interests and pace.

This format ensures a more flexible, comfortable and personalized expedition experience in one of the most remote regions of Central Asia.

The altitude is high more than 3000m above sea level and dry remote mountain valleys.  We recommend you train with sport or jogging 2-3 times a week in the run-up to your trip

Clothing for hiking in temperatures from +25C to -0C. A detailed kit list will be sent to you when you book on.

We provide you with mineral water where it is available to buy on the way in the village shops when we travel by vehicle. During the trek-days we will not able to carry the much mineral bottled waters, we take water from the springs and rivers for cooking and for tea-coffee after well boiling for sure. For drinking, you can use water filters. We offer you to bring the water purified pills from your side. In Kyrgyzstan and Tadjikistan people used to drink from the rivers and spring source and we don’t use the water filters and any pure file pills. Therefore, you will not able to find the water pure file pills or portable filters in Central Asia.

All overnights during the trekking days will be in tents. We provide you tent/mat upon your request. In the village, you will stay in the family running homestays and the room can be dormitory to share with 2 or 3 persons. SNG supplement room is agreed upon for additional charges. Twin room hotels will be in Osh and Khorog towns.

For Pamir, you need a GBAO permit. You can apply for the permit online in the state e-visa page of Tadjikistan: https://www.ivisa.com/tajikistan-visa-gbao

The basic hints for travelers.

  • During your travel time, please respect local culture, customs, traditions, and religion.
  • Try to buy local products and make a benefit for the local economy.
  • Always give fair prices for lodging, food and other services.
  • Take off your shoes, when entering home or yurt stay.
  • Smoking is prohibited at home.
  • Please share your ideas on food and accommodation preferences.
  • Ask people for photographing them.
  • Be friendly and try to get in contact.
  • Be careful during the evening and night time and aware of mass meetings.
  • Be careful with your documents, money and valuable items.
  • Be aware of pickpockets and strangers at bazaars and streets.
  • If someone asking for documents, wallets or cameras, saying that they are from the police, ask them to go police together.
  • Never give your belongings to strangers.
  • Wear good hiking shoes for outdoor activities.
  • Bring warm waterproof clothes even in summer.
  • Have your torch sunscreen and repellent.
  • Do not drink very cold water from unknown sources.
  • Drinking alcohol at high altitudes is unsafe.
  • If the food fat or not acceptable for you can taste a bit and say thanks.
  • Do not drink cold water after eating out, better hot tea or c It helps in high altitude digestions cases.
  • Wear warm clothes in the mountains, usually after eating out.
  • Bring your medicines and first aid kit.
  • If you feel unsafe or have issues to discuss, please share with your staff, host or tour manager.
  • Collect your litter. Pack up all non-biodegradable rubbish.
  • Please don’t drop cigarette butts or litter.
  • High altitude vegetation is very fragile. Save the environment.
  • Use toilets in nature wherever available. Where are none, stay at least 40-50 m from streams and water sources and bury all waste and paper.
  • Leaving footprints, take just your photographs.
