Heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and Germany discussed projects in hydropower, logistics, and tourism

Bishkek, 12.02.26 /Kabar/. In Berlin on February 11, 2026, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Jeenbek Kulubaev, held a bilateral meeting with the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Johann Wadeful. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The heads of the foreign policy agencies confirmed the openness and readiness of the two countries to further deepen cooperation based on mutual respect, equality, and mutual benefit. A wide range of current issues was discussed, including interaction in political, trade-economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

The parties noted the importance of continuing mutual political dialogue through the organization of reciprocal visits at various levels. Regarding the development of interparliamentary cooperation, Kulubaev informed about the results of the elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, which were conducted in accordance with national legislation and international standards, ensuring transparency, openness, and public trust in the electoral process.

Noting the successful socio-economic development of the Kyrgyz Republic in recent years, the Kyrgyz minister called for joint measures to expand interaction with German companies in such promising sectors as hydropower, agriculture, transport and logistics, as well as tourist infrastructure. In addition, the parties expressed mutual desire to intensify interaction in such priority areas as the ‘green’ economy, e-commerce, new technologies, mobility, and education.

The ministers also exchanged views on issues of the international and regional agenda and discussed the interaction of the two countries within various international organizations and regional associations, including the UN, OSCE, EU.

Regarding the sanction issues of the European Union, Kulubaev called for a more constructive and balanced approach from European countries. He drew attention to the lack of clear and unambiguous grounds for restrictive measures and emphasized their possible negative consequences for the sustainable socio-economic development of Central Asian countries. The head of the Kyrgyz MFA emphasized that the Kyrgyz Republic strictly adheres to its international obligations and is ready for open, equal, and mutually beneficial dialogue with European institutions.
