During the journey, you’ll traverse diverse landscapes, from the expansive mountain valley of Suusamyr to the vast Toktogul water reserve, offering captivating views at every turn.

Today’s drive promises an exploration of Kyrgyzstan’s most spectacular highland scenery, with each bend in the road revealing a new panorama of snow-capped peaks, verdant valleys, and meandering rivers.

Upon reaching Kara-Suu village, you’ll receive a warm welcome at a family homestay, where you’ll spend the night and enjoy a hearty dinner. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in the genuine hospitality and vibrant culture of Kyrgyzstan.

Following a hearty breakfast, we’ll journey from the quaint village of Kara-Suu to the starting point of our trek. Here, we’ll meet our trusty horses, companions for the duration of our adventure, and begin the first day of our horse trek.

Our path leads us on an exhilarating ascent through the South Aflatun mountain valley, gradually ascending to its lofty heights. The trail meanders alongside a babbling river, flanked by verdant walnut groves, orchards bursting with ripe fruit, and fragrant coniferous forests.

Immersed in the natural splendor of our surroundings, we’ll forge ahead, guided by the rhythmic hoofbeats of our horses and the awe-inspiring beauty of the landscape. As evening descends, we’ll set up camp amidst the tranquil embrace of the wilderness, where the starry sky serves as our canopy. Nestled in our tents, lulled by the symphony of nature, we’ll rest and rejuvenate, ready to continue our journey come the dawn.

Continuing our ascent along the South Aflatun valley, our journey unfolds amidst breathtaking vistas and cultural encounters. As we traverse the rugged terrain, we’ll encounter several nomadic settlements dotting the landscape, inviting us to pause and immerse ourselves in the timeless traditions of Kyrgyz nomads.

These encounters offer a glimpse into the rich tapestry of nomadic life, where hospitality flows as freely as the mountain streams. Engaging with locals, we’ll learn about their customs, traditions, and the symbiotic relationship they share with the land.

As the day progresses, we’ll veer off the main path and venture into the enchanting side valley of Uyalma. Here, amidst the tranquility of the wilderness, we’ll make camp for the night. Under the vast expanse of the star-studded sky, we’ll retire to our tents, serenaded by the gentle whisper of the wind through the valley. It’s a chance to reflect on the day’s adventures and prepare for the wonders that await us on the morrow.

On the forth day of our expedition, we undertake an exhilarating journey as we conquer the formidable Kuldanbes pass. Ascending to its summit, we’re rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, a testament to our journey’s triumphs.

With spirits high, we descend from the pass, our path leading us to the northern shore of the jewel-like Lake Sary-Chelek. As we approach its tranquil waters, the beauty of the lake unfolds before us, a breathtaking sight to behold.

Tonight, we set up camp along the pristine shores of Lake Sary-Chelek, where the serenity of the surroundings invites us to bask in nature’s embrace. As we settle in for the night, the shimmering waters mirror the starlit sky above, creating a scene of unparalleled beauty. In the comfort of our tents, lulled by the gentle lapping of the lake against the shore, we drift into a peaceful slumber, grateful for the wonders of the day’s journey.

Our journey continues as we trek alongside the meandering Sary-Chelek River, forging a path towards the majestic Makmal pass. The ascent to the pass offers a challenge worth undertaking, rewarded by sweeping vistas of the surrounding wilderness.

Descending from the pass, we enter the picturesque Kyzyl-Suu valley, where the landscape transforms before our eyes. Here, amidst the verdant valleys and rolling hills, we encounter numerous beekeepers tending to their hives. The honey produced in this valley is renowned throughout Kyrgyzstan for its exceptional taste and health benefits.

As we make our way to the confluence with the Korumdu River, we set up camp for the night, surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the valley. Underneath the vast expanse of the starlit sky, we rest in our tents, serenaded by the gentle murmurs of the river. Tall birch and maple trees grace the landscape, their lush foliage providing a stark contrast to the rugged mountains that surround us. It’s a sight not commonly found in mountain valleys, a testament to the unique microclimate of the area.

As we arrive at the southeastern shore of Lake Kara-Kamysh, we find respite in a small grove nestled by the water’s edge. Here, amidst the tranquility of nature, we set up camp for the night. Underneath the canopy of trees, we find solace in the embrace of the wilderness, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the natural world. It’s a moment to reflect on the journey we’ve undertaken and the wonders we’ve encountered along the way.

When preparing for horseback riding tours in Kyrgyzstan, it’s important to have the right clothing and equipment to ensure your comfort, safety, and enjoyment.

Here’s a suggested list:

Riding Helmet: A well-fitted, approved equestrian helmet is essential for safety. Protecting your head is crucial in case of falls or accidents (we will provide you with the helmets).

Riding Boots: Invest in a pair of sturdy, comfortable riding boots with a low heel. They provide grip in the stirrups and protect your feet from getting caught.

Riding Pants: Opt for comfortable, stretchy riding pants or breeches that allow freedom of movement. They should be durable and not have any loose fabric that could get caught.

Layered Clothing: Kyrgyzstan’s weather can be unpredictable, so pack layers to adapt to changing temperatures. Consider a moisture-wicking base layer, a fleece or sweater for warmth, and a waterproof or windproof outer layer.

Riding Gloves: Choose gloves that offer good grip and protect your hands from friction and blisters. They should be flexible enough to handle reins and other equipment.

Sunglasses and Sunscreen: Protect your eyes and skin from the sun’s rays. Choose sunglasses that provide UV protection and bring a high SPF sunscreen for exposed areas.

Riding Socks: Wear comfortable, moisture-wicking socks that are tall enough to prevent chafing from the boots. Consider bringing an extra pair in case they get wet.

Backpack or Saddlebags: Carry a small backpack or saddlebags to hold essentials like water, snacks, a camera, a map, and a first aid kit. Make sure it’s secure and won’t hinder your movement.

Sleeping bag. Good sleeping bags with temperature rating comfort not less than – 1C.

First Aid Kit: Pack a basic first aid kit with items such as bandages, antiseptic wipes, pain relievers, insect repellent, and any necessary personal medications.

Rain Gear: Kyrgyzstan experiences occasional rain, so pack a lightweight, waterproof jacket or poncho to stay dry during unexpected showers.

Hat or Cap: Bring a wide-brimmed hat or cap to protect your face and neck from the sun. It will also help keep you cool on hot days.

Personal Items: Carry personal items like a flashlight, pocket knife, hand sanitizer, and a small towel for convenience.
