ITINERARY

Meeting at the airport, transfer for Bishkek. Hotel accommodation. Rest day. After lunch visit Ala-Archa national park. Welcoming dinner at the restaurant. Hotel.

 

Morning transfer for Suusamyr valley. 4 hours driving through Too-Ashuu pass. Upon your arrival lunch on the open area with riverside Koko-Meren. Here you can do a couple of hours of horseback riding the last 10 km of distance to the village Kyzyl-Oi where you will have your first homestay accommodation. Dinner and overnight.

Today you have a task on horseback to help the locals in their daily life. Take the horse trek up to the mountain trail to make and find a herd of horses. Visit a local shepherd’s hut to help them to collect a herd of horses from the slopes of the mountains and drive them to the village. Then the locals will catch a young wild stallion that would accustom him to the saddle. You know that not accustomed to horses are peculiar obstinacy, sharpness, aggressive. But today You will see a master class from a local rider on how to train wild horses.

Late afternoon returns to Kyzyl-Oi and transfers for Kyzart village. It will take 2 hours driving. Arrival in Kyzart village, accommodation in the homestay with dinner. Hot shower and sauna nearby the guesthouse

After breakfast transfer for Bazar-Turuk gorge where starts 3-4 hours’ horse trek to high mountain valley Song-Kol. Today you will cross the pass 3300 m above sea level. Song-Kul Valley will open for you the endless white snow horizons and the arctic landscape. Lakes Sonkul will be completely frozen with meter ice. You will be greeted by a lonely yurt camp in a huge valley like a lonely lighthouse in the middle of an ocean of snowy expanses. Here at night, the temperature can drop to -40 degrees Celsius. But the yurt camp will be equipped with the necessary means to spend the night in the valley. Dine and sleep in the yurt.

After breakfast take the horse trek back to Bazar-Turuk gorge where you will change your horses to your cars and go for Kyzart village for late lunchtime.  Afternoon hit the road to Kochkor village for having a comfortable guesthouse accommodation, nice dinner, and hot shower.

After breakfast, it is a time to explore the lovely region Yssik-Kol. Transfer by car from Kochkor to Jaichy valley where we will be welcomed in the local farmer’s house. Here we will see the horse game Ulak-Tartysh. Afternoon transfer for the fairytale canyon Skazka, where your horses will waiting for you. Here we will take on the traditional warrior’s costumes and ride into the canyon, sightseeing and photo session in the place.  After the canyon visit Kadjy-Sai, take a hot spring before the dinner in the guesthouse.

Accommodation in the guesthouse with dinner.

Today participate in joint hunting with local golden eagle hunters. Everybody in the traditional costumes can continue the horseback riding and do joint hunting for wild jackals or foxes depends on the luck. Lunch Return to the guesthouse for late lunch. Afternoon transfer for Chong-Kemin to the Ashu guesthouse. Dinner, sauna, swimming pool.

After breakfast 2-3 hours’ horse trek in the fir forest nearby the mountain range of Chong-Kemin.

Return to Ashuu to have a lunch and afternoon transfer for Bishkek. 

Accommodation in the hotel. For evening farewell dinner at the restaurant.

After having solved all the questions and programs confirming we issue an invoice for payment. You can make a bank transfer or pay upon your arrival time in Bishkek before the trip starts.

The price of the tour depends on the number of people and the season. According to the request and interest, we can negotiate the optimal price for your budget.

The average temperature will be about -5C in the daytime. The most extremal part will be the tour to the lake Song-Kol which is located on the mountains with 3000 m altitude and crossing the one pass 3400m above sea level. The itinerary to lake Song-Kol will be windy and cold. The minimum temperature we expect can be -30 C.

Most of the overnight will be in the local family guesthouses and one overnight in the yurt which is located in Song-Kol valley.

Yes. There is a requirement for the winter horseback riding tour to be well prepared and be an advanced rider. Because we should pass the planned horseback riding distance as fast as possible and riding time is not more than 3 hours a day in order not to spend much time in the cold air.

  • Be aware of pickpockets and strangers at bazaars and streets.
  • If someone asking for documents, wallets or cameras, saying that they are from the police, ask them to go police together.
  • Never give your belongings to strangers.
  • Wear good hiking shoes for outdoor activities.
  • Bring warm waterproof clothes even in summer.
  • Have your torch sunscreen and repellent.
  • Do not drink very cold water from unknown sources.
  • Drinking alcohol at high altitudes is unsafe.
  • If the food is fat or not acceptable for you can taste a bit and say thanks.
  • Do not drink cold water after eating out, better hot tea or c It helps in high altitude digestions cases.
  • Wear warm clothes in the mountains, usually after eating out.
  • Bring your medicines and first aid kit.
  • If you feel unsafe or have issues to discuss, please share with your staff, host, or tour manager.
  • Collect your litter. Pack up all non-biodegradable rubbish.
  • Please don’t drop cigarette butts or litter.
  • High altitude vegetation is very fragile. Save the environment.
  • Use toilets in nature wherever available. Where are none, stay at least 40-50 m from streams and water sources and bury all waste and paper.
  • Leaving footprints, take just your photographs.
