After being transferred from Bishkek you can start the track either on horseback or on your own feet as a tracking tour. In any case, you will be wandering through the Chong-Kemin National Park, exploring the hidden, beautiful mountain lake Kol-Tor and climbing the Tamchy Pass. In the end, there is Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan’s most famous lake waiting for you.

The tour is available to do in two options: Trekking on feet or taking a horseback riding tour.

ITINERARY

Transfer from Bishkek at 7.00 AM to the gorge Toguz Bulak in the valley Chong-Kemin (170 km, 3 hours). In any case you will meet your guide and your horses and head on to the Lake Kol-Tor. You will spend the day riding or walking through calm forrests and over smooth hills until you will reach the precious Lake. Here at the shore of Kol-Tor you will pitch your tent and prepare for a hush night, guarded by mountain summits.

After breakfast, the tour will be continued from Kol-Tor Lake to the Tamchy pass. Having ascended the impressive mountain pass (3 400 m) you will have a short break bevore it is time to dismount to the beautiful Achyk-Tash jailoo. Here you will have a lunch picnic in the wilderness. Having enjoyed the smooth grass of the jailoo, your transport will pick you up and transfer you to Tamchy village. Tamchy is located on the northern shore of the great Lake Yssuk-Kol, you will have the possibility to go for a swim in the clear waters! Dinner and accommodation in the guest house.

Your transfer back to Bishkek is waiting for you after breakfast. On the way you have the chance to visit the Burana tower, Kyrgyzstan´s best known archaelogical site. Located near Bishkek it marks an important, ancient trading point on the Silk Road. The arrival in Bishkek will be at lunchtime. The driving takes approx. 4 hours.

After having solved all the questions and programs confirming we issue an invoice for payment. You can make a bank transfer or pay upon your arrival time in Bishkek before the trip starts.

Kyrgyzstan is a high altitude mountain country and some point you prefer to do walking and hiking. We recommend you train with sport or jogging 2-3 times a week in the run-up to your trip

  • Never give your belongings to strangers.
  • Wear good hiking shoes for outdoor activities.
  • Bring warm waterproof clothes even in summer.
  • Have your torch sunscreen and repellent.
  • Do not drink very cold water from unknown sources.
  • Drinking alcohol at high altitudes is unsafe.
  • If the food fat or not acceptable for you can taste a bit and say thanks.
  • Do not drink cold water after eating out, better hot tea or c It helps in high altitude digestions cases.
  • Wear warm clothes in the mountains, usually after eating out.
  • Bring your medicines and first aid kit.

  • High altitude vegetation is very fragile. Save the environment.
  • Use toilets in nature wherever available. Where are none, stay at least 40-50 m from streams and water sources and bury all waste and paper.
  • Leaving footprints, take just your photographs.
